  Prepare For The Unexpected

Healthcare providers play a critical role in community preparedness

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a voluntary program that is made up of health and medical volunteers who will work alongside public health staff during emergencies in your county.

  Why you should join today!

The events of Fall 2001, Hurricane Katrina and the recent flooding in Oregon and Washington reminds us of the importance of community preparedness and the crucial role that healthcare providers and institutions play in the response to large-scale emergencies. By joining MRC, you will be working to help strengthen the Public Health Infrastructure and Improving Emergency Preparedness.

The MRC program provides a unique opportunity for you to become a prepared and effective part of the health response to a disaster.

We are dedicated to establishing teams of local volunteer medical and public health professionals to contribute their skills and expertise throughout the year as well as during times of community need.

MRC membership requires little work on your part, prior to an emergency. The MRC will provide a basic orientation and self-guided online trainings.

Your skills and expertise will greatly enhance our community’s preparedness for emergencies and help us save lives.

MRC volunteers include a variety of licensed medical professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselor/therapists, and acupuncturists etc.
